Attorneys and clients alike are experiencing frustration with the processing times of cases at the local USCIS office.  On April 13, 2015, the Denver Field Office issued a processing time report, which is essentially a snapshot of the cases they were working with on February 28, 2015.  On that date, the local office was processing I-485 Applications for Adjustment of Status that were filed on June 8, 2014, which represents a nearly nine month processing time for those applications.  USCIS also reported that they were processing N-400 Applications for Naturalization that were filed on June 29, 2014, which is just over eight months of processing time.  Their stated goal is to process both types of cases within five months.

Again, the report is nearly a month old and represents a snapshot of what USCIS was working on back on February 28, 2015.

In our own cases in the office, we are currently noticing that cases are being scheduled approximately ten months from filing.  It appears as though our Field Office’s backlog is growing and scheduling is slowing down.
