Biography
Jessica Bunnell is an Associate Attorney at Kolko & Casey, P.C., where she specializes in the field of U.S. Immigration Law.
Growing up on the east coast, Jessica attended Pennsylvania State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 2006. After finishing her undergraduate degree, Jessica served two terms as an AmeriCorps member, working in Pennsylvania and in Oregon for environmental non-profit organizations.
Jessica attended the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder, Colorado. During law school, Jessica found her passion for immigration law by participating as a student attorney in Colorado Law’s Criminal and Immigration Defense Clinic. One of the only legal clinics of its kind, the Criminal and Immigration Defense Clinic specializes in representing indigent noncitizens who have been charged with crimes and placed in deportation proceedings. Through the clinic, Jessica represented clients both in state criminal court and in U.S. Immigration Court, and developed a keen understanding of the immigration consequences of criminal convictions.
Jessica also had the opportunity to extern with the U.S. Immigration Court in Denver, where she learned more about the workings of the Court. Jessica has also clerked with private law firms in Denver, focusing solely on immigration practice, and gained experience in removal, family-based, and employment-based immigration.
In her free time, Jessica enjoys cooking, baking, knitting, hiking, and camping.
